GAA
Our senior team put in another solid performance against Moyne C.S, in Emmet Park Killoe on Tuesday 17th November beating them with a final score of 4-15 to 1-6. Mark Hughes was in top form scoring 3-5 on the day. St Mel’s were missing Paddy Thompson and Ciaran Farrell through injury. Line out was – Tadgh Devlin, Emmet Clarke, Conor Clarke, Jamie Mulligan, Darragh Bennett, Ronan Keogh, David Mahon, Michael Farrell, Morgan Kelly, Liam Connerton, Padraig McCormack, David Mimnagh, Aaron Madden, Mark Hughes, Daniel Mimnagh.
Scorers –Morgan Kelly 0-2, Daniel Mimnagh 0-2, Ronan Keogh 0-1, Ryan Murray 1-0, Padraig McCormack 0-1, Micheal Farrell 0-2, Darren Quinn 0-2, Mark Hughes 3-5.
The U16s were due to play St. Mary’s of Mullingar last Thursday. However it had to be postponed due to the very bad weather conditions

Basketball
St. Mel’s U19 squad lost a tough game to Naas recently. It was a close game most of the way through, but Naas just pulled in the end winning by 11 points. 

Parent Teacher Meeting
There are a lot of nervous 2nd and 3rd years walking around the college this week with the upcoming parent teacher meeting. The meeting will take place in the Sports Hall from 9am – 12pm for 2nd years and from 1pm to 4pm for 3rd years.

Art Inspection
The school had an Art inspection last week. Well done to Ms Corkery and her Art students. By all accounts the inspection went very well.

Exams
Christmas exams will come upon us very quickly. 1st year exams will be held slightly earlier than usual. They are planned to take place on Thursday 10th and Friday 11th December. Classes will resume as normal on the 14th. The rest of the school will have their exams from the 18th to the 22nd December. We better get studying!

TY News
The TY’s are still enjoying their First Aid, Photography and Art classes. Employers beware they are out and about this week searching for work experience placements. Golf on Friday mornings is proving very popular among the class as is the GAA coaching on Monday afternooons.

Enterprise
Ms Sadie Wheatly was in the school on Tuesday 17th November to help the TYs along with their Enterprise Project. The class have come up with some great ideas. They will be announcing details of their Enterprise soon
 
TY Raffle
The TY raffle will take place this week. The class are currently selling tickets at €2 each for some great prizes. First prize is an XBOX Elite, second an iPod and 3rd prize is a €50 voucher for Spirit Clothing. Good Luck to all.

Parish Review
Transition Years are busy working on the Parish Review Newspaper with their CD teacher Ms McGuinness. It is due to be published for Christmas. The school is delighted with the TY’s involvement in the Parish and wish them luck.
